The idea was originated in Russian space training centres set out to combat the effects of the gravity-free environment. This has led to the development of the phenomenon of whole body vibration (WBV) technology. Since research began decades ago, it has been well documented that vibration technology does have many benefits on the body and has been known to help many with conditions such as osteoporosis. This technology has paved way for whole body vibration to be available to many other professions including leisure, sports and healthcare practitioners.
